Knorr-Bremse AG and ZAO Transmashholding recently agreed to create a Russian joint venture to manufacture, sell and service rail vehicle braking systems in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Knorr-Bremse and Moscow-based ZAO Transmashholding — Russia's largest rolling stock manufacturer — each will retain a half interest in the venture firm. The pact will enable Knorr-Bremse to enter the Russian market as a rail vehicle braking system supplier.

Knorr-Bremse supplies braking systems for rail and commercial vehicles, as well as automatic door systems, rail vehicle air conditioning systems and torsional vibration dampers for internal combustion engines.
