Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
RMI is accepting entries for the 2008 Fast Track Awards, which recognize railroads and shippers that use the company’s RailConnect® and ShipperConnect™ information technology systems to improve business processes.
The third annual awards’ criteria is based on a consistently high percentage compliance with TRAIN II reporting standards and advanced management reporting through RMI’s or other third-party tools. Winners also are selected based on a customer's use of RailConnect EMS services to better control car hire costs or increase fleet earnings; ShipperConnect FMS services to improve fleet performance and customer service; automation to report events; RailConnect features to automate manual processes; electronic tools to automate information flow between a railroad and its customers; and custom interfaces to integrate a railroad with a large facility’s logistics and production departments.
“The Fast Track Award program … continues to promote the use of smart technology for the rail industry,” said RMI Vice President of Marketing Paul Pascutti in a prepared statement.
For more information on the 2008 award nomination process, call RMI’s Jennie Baker at 404-355-6734 or send an email to jennieb@railcarmgt.com.
