Bombardier to refurbish light-rail vehicles for Utah Transit Authority

advertisement

The Utah Transit Authority recently awarded a contract to Bombardier Transportation to overhaul 29 light-rail vehicles recently purchased from the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). The cars were built by Bombardier and delivered to VTA in the mid-1980s.

Bombardier, which recently acquired Transportation and Transit Associates L.L.C.’s passenger-car overhaul division, continues to grow its car overhaul business. Last year, the company obtained a contract from MTA Metro-North Railroad to overhaul Comet II coaches. And Bombardier currently is delivering refurbished passenger cars to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.
