On April 2, Amtrak will begin operating a new spring/summer timetable that includes changes to some east and central U.S. trains.

The national intercity passenger railroad will operate two new weekend Keystone trains. On Saturdays, one will depart Harrisburg, Pa., at 7:05 p.m. to provide a later eastbound departure and connect in Philadelphia with Amtrak Regional trains. On Sundays, a new westbound train will depart Philadelphia at 1:45 p.m.

In addition, a new New York-to-Washington, D.C., Regional train will depart New York City at 5:45 a.m. on Saturdays, providing early morning service to Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington. Another Saturday train will leave Springfield, Mass., at 8:05 a.m. to provide additional service south to D.C.

In the Midwest, an eastbound Lake Shore Limited train will depart Chicago at 10 p.m. nightly, so passengers arriving on other trains from the west and south can make connections.

In addition, two of the three Wolverine Service trains from Chicago to Detroit and Pontiac, Mich., will feature new schedules. One train will leave Michigan at 8:30 a.m. to connect in Chicago with the first Hiawatha train arriving from Milwaukee, and the departure of a mid-day train has been moved up an hour to leave Chicago at 12:15 p.m.

Finally, Amtrak will add Carlinville, Ill., as a stop on most Texas Eagle trains.
