On Sept. 12, President Bush nominated Robert Crandall, Louis Thompson and Floyd Hall to serve five-year terms on the Amtrak Reform Board.

Crandall is the former chairman and chief executive officer of AMR Corp. and American Airlines. A Texas resident, he served on the President’s Advisory Committee for Trade Polity and Negotiations in 1995.

In May, Maryland resident Thompson retired as railways advisor for the World Bank — a position he held since 1986. Prior to that, he served as director of Federal Railroad Administration’s Northeast Corridor Improvement Project, and as the U.S Department of Transportation’s policy and budget analyst.

Hall currently serves as chairman and CEO of New Jersey-based Floyd Hall Enterprises L.L.C. Between 1995 and 2000, he served as chairman and CEO of Kmart.
