MTA Long Island Rail Road recently completed a $2.4 million renovation at St. Albans Station.
The project included demolishing the existing four-car platform and building a six-car concrete platform, rehabilitating and re-opening a pedestrian tunnel, repairing stairways, and replacing platform and canopy lighting, and the public-address system.
LIRR used funds from its $2.3 billion capital program, which includes funds to renovate more than 65 stations.
