Oregon's TriMet posts ridership increase

In September, ridership on Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon’s (TriMet) Westside MAX line carried 28,100 riders, a 3,000-passenger increase compared with the previous month.

The increase was due to a new Airport MAX line, which opened Aug. 31.

Extending from downtown Portland to Beaverton, Ore., the line added direct airport service to six stations and four trains each hour, enabling MAX to run every seven minutes during rush hour.
