Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
A. Stucki Co. recently acquired RJ Rail Services L.L.C., which will be integrated into A. Stucki’s American Industries subsidiary.
After the transaction is completed, the new division will operate as American Industries Midwest. RJ Rail founder and President Randy Haan will remain with the Kansas City, Mo.-based company and serve as American Industries Midwest’s general manager. He will be responsible for sales and services at a new Kansas facility.
“The acquisition will enable us to expand our very successful American Industries business into the Midwest by offering reconditioning services for freight-car components, as well as serving as a distribution center for other A. Stucki Co. products,” said A. Stucki President Bill Kiefer in a prepared statement.
Meanwhile, A. Stucki recently received two International MarCom Creative Awards for a 2006 advertising campaign entitled “Look What We’ve Become” and a corporate capabilities information kit.
An international competition for marketing and communications materials and programs, the International MarCom Creative Awards presented one of its highest honors — the Platinum Award — to A. Stucki for the ad campaign. The kit received a Gold Award.
A. Stucki supplies various railroad components, including constant-contact side bearings, resilient friction shoes, hydraulic stabilizers, draft gears and brake beams. The company also provides freight and locomotive component repair and reconditioning services through its American Industries and Independent Draft Gear subsidiaries.
