AAR adds Ferromex to weekly traffic-report mix
advertisement
It's two down and one to go for Association of American Railroads: AAR plans this week to add Ferrocarril Mexicano S.A. de C.V. (Ferromex) to its Weekly Railroad Traffic Report (WRT).
AAR, which in January added TFM S.A. de C.V. to WRT, now will cover about 88 percent of Mexico's rail traffic in its report (still missing is Ferrosur S.A. de C.V.'s traffic).
Ferromex's data would include weekly carload and intermodal traffic figures. AAR also plans to provide a weekly total of TFM's and Ferromex's originated traffic in WRT.
Although Ferromex plans to provide AAR its 2001 and 2002 traffic data on a week-by-week basis, the Mexican road hasn’t been able to supply data from those years' early weeks. Therefore, AAR officials believe WRT won't include Ferromex's cumulative-year totals until 2003's first week, according to a prepared statement.
