Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
The Association of American Railroads (AAR) recently appointed GATX Rail Executive Vice President Terrence Heidkamp to the Technical Services Working Committee (TSWC). The committee oversees 11 subcommittees that seek to ensure the reliability and safety of all freight cars and locomotives in the North American interchange system.
Heidkamp is the AAR’s first appointment since the association expanded and enhanced its Associate's Program earlier this year to provide voting seats for associate members on 30 safety and operations committees.
“Heidkamp has acquired a great deal of expertise over the years in the fields covered by TSWC,” said AAR President and Chief Executive Officer Ed Hamberger in a prepared statement.
The enhanced Associates Program also includes a nine-member Advisory Board that will be named later this year. Membership on the board and the AAR committees is open to gold associate members.
