AAR, freight roads start up industry-promoting Web site

Association of American Railroads, in association with U.S. freight roads, recently launched www.tomorrowsrailroads.org, which is designed to promote freight railroads' benefits to the nation.
The site includes a freight-rail fact book; a summary of what railroads carry in individual states; a video message from AAR, and its President and Chief Executive Officer Edward Hamberger; links to AAR, and industry and legislative news; and links to a print ad AAR placed May 15 in the Washington Post, and radio and TV ads AAR plans to launch in June.
AAR's ad program will focus on three major themes: the industry's contributions to the economy through the wide array of products railroads move; railroads' quality-of-life benefits, particularly in regards to the nation's environment and highway congestion; and the industry's strides in transforming itself into a technologically advanced transportation network with fast and efficient service, says Tom White, AAR director of editorial services.
