AAR releases commodity statistics report

On Friday, the Association of American Railroads released the 2010 edition of its Freight Commodity Statistics publication, which provides 2009 data for Class I traffic by commodity.
The report reviews more than 450 commodities ranging from motor vehicles to watermelons. Commodities are broken down into categories such as U.S., East and Western regional carloads, and tonnage originated, terminated and carried.
