The Association of American Railroads (AAR) has published the latest edition of "Railroad Ten-Year Trends," which provides railroad-related data for a period covering 2003 to 2012. Over 60 pages of the publication also include preliminary data for 2013. Railroad Ten-Year Trends provides tables and graphs to offer an economic overview of the U.S. freight-rail industry, including Class I industry performance, traffic, financial statistics, employment, plant and equipment, and operations, AAR officials said in a press release. In addition, the publication includes selected information on regionals and short lines; lists all U.S., Canadian and Mexican railroads; provides profiles of rail-related organizations; and features a brief glossary of commonly-used railroad terms.Non-members can purchase downloadable copies of Railroad Ten-Year Trends through the AAR's website for $95. The publication is free for AAR members. Paper copies are available for $125 for non-members and $50 for AAR members, plus $5 per order to cover domestic shipping and handling fees.
