Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
Instead of rail shippers coming to its chosen venue, the Association of American Railroads (AAR) is heading to shippers’ location of choice for its next railroad customer forum. And instead of conducting a forum in fall — before the peak shipping season — the association is holding one in spring.
The AAR has partnered with the North American Rail Shippers Association (NARS) to conduct the 2007 North American Railroads Customer Forum at NARS’ annual meeting to be held May 23-25 in Washington, D.C. The forum will take place on May 24 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the Mayflower Renaissance Hotel.
The event will include a panel discussion, moderated by AAR President and Chief Executive Officer Edward Hamberger, featuring seven Class I chief marketing officers. At the conclusion of the annual meeting’s afternoon agenda, the AAR and NARS will offer break-out sessions to enable shippers and senior railroad officers to hold informal discussions.
For more information, log onto the AAR’s Web site at www.aar.org. An online registration form is available through NARS at www.railshippers.com/registration/default.asp.
