The Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA) recently elected Long Beach City Councilman Gary DeLong chairman for 2009-10. He succeeds Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn, who now will serve as vice chairman.

ACTA’s board also added Long Beach Harbor Commissioner Susan Anderson Wise as a member to replace Jim Hankla, who retired.

Since the Alameda Corridor opened between the ports of L.A. and Long Beach in April 2002, more than 15 million containers have been transported along the route. The 20-mile corridor averages more than 5,400 containers daily — about one-third of the ports’ average daily volume.
