Minneapolis’ Metropolitan Council recently awarded a $91 million contract to AECOM Technology Corp. to serve as the prime consultant for the Minneapolis-St. Pual Central Corridor Light Rail Transit project.
The 11-mile, $930 million corridor will link downtown St. Paul and Minneapolis through the State Capitol area, Midway and the University of Minnesota East Bank. Scheduled to open in 2014, the line would connect with the Hiawatha light-rail system at the Metrodome station.
AECOM will provide preliminary engineering, final design and design-support services during construction.
