ALSTOM-led consortium lands contract for Venezuela Metro line extension

Venezuela’s C.A. Metro Los Teques recently awarded a $245 million turnkey contract to an ALSTOM-led FRAMECA consortium to complete portions of work for the agency’s Metro Line 2 extension.
Under its $108 million share of the contract, ALSTOM will provide six trainsets, traction electrification and signal equipment for the extension, which is scheduled to open in October 2006.
