ALSTOM to build infrastructure for driverless metro line in Milan

ALSTOM Transport recently obtained a $57.7 million contract to help construct an automatic, driverless metro line in Milan, Italy.
The company will supply the infrastructure, including the electric supply system, electrical substations, traction systems and platform screen doors for the 3.5-mile, nine-station line.
The line, which will run between Garibaldi and Bignami,, will connect with Milan’s public transportation network.
