American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association's (ASLRRA) presidential search committee plans to interview top candidates during the third week of June, according to the association's newsletter released June 5.
The nine-member panel, which comprises ASLRRA executive-committee members, and Cathy Hale of Madison Railroad and Wilds Pierce of Georgia Northeastern Railroad Co. Inc., recently narrowed its qualified-applicant list to several finalists. (ASLRRA declined to identify or provide an exact number of finalists.)
President Frank Turner, who planned to retire May 1 but will remain in his position until a successor is named, will participate in the final interview process, ASLRRA said.
