ASLRRA to recognize HDR for support of military veterans

The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) today announced HDR Inc. is the recipient of the association's 2025 Veterans Engagement Award, which recognizes nominees' efforts to engage with military veterans, support them in the workplace and community and attract them through hiring practices.
ASLRRA associate business member HDR demonstrates noteworthy accomplishments in each of the award's categories through its work with outside organizations and development of internal programs. The company will be honored April 8 at the ASLRRA Annual Conference & Exhibition in Denver.
"We know that veterans bring a strong commitment to safety and the mission, the ability to work tough jobs, and valuable experience to the industry,” said ASLRRA President Chuck Baker in a press release. “The ASLRRA is pleased to honor these efforts by highlighting HDR’s tremendous accomplishments.”
HDR’s Veterans Employee Network Group brings together veterans, military family members and others to build a supportive community for current and prospective employees. HDR's hiring outreach has been noted by numerous groups that support veterans, and the HDR Foundation has provided financial support to veterans’ organizations.
HDR also participates in Hiring Our Heroes events and career fairs and the organization’s Fellowship Cohort Program, which offers internship opportunities and industry-focused training to veterans, spouses and others.
Moreover, HDR established a National Supplier Diversity Program to foster partnerships with small businesses, which include veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses.
