On Jan. 13, Alaska Railroad Corp. (ARRC) will host an open house in Fairbanks to review current and upcoming capital improvement projects.
Project managers will describe work to be done between Seward and Fairbanks, including the Fairbanks intermodal facility, depot and loop track; rail alignments between Fort Wainwright and the North Pole, and in Neana; Eielson Air Force Base-to-Fort Greely rail extension; track rehabilitation and bridge improvement programs; and a new collision avoidance system.
ARRC also plans to hold open houses in Wasilla and Seward during the next month.
