On Oct. 6, the Alaska Railroad Corp. (ARRC) will host an open house to publicly display plans for the $60 million Ship Creek Intermodal Transportation Center. Project managers and designers will be on hand to answer questions.

Scheduled to begin next year, construction will be completed in three phases. In 2006, ARRC will relocate utilities and construct two additional tracks. In 2007, the railroad will construct a service building and rehabilitate the historic depot. Under Phase 3, ARRC will build a new departure lounge over the tracks, a pedestrian sky bridge and a parking garage.
