The National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) recently named Alaska Railroad Corp. (ARRC) Senior Account Manager Rob Halpin the recipient of a Distinguished Service Award.

A member of NDTA's North Pole Chapter for 14 years, Halpin serves as the association's chapter treasurer and chairs numerous fund raising events.

"The railroad works very closely with the military to facilitate movement of equipment to various points along the railbelt," said Steve Silverstein, ARRC vice president of markets, sales and service, in a prepared statement. "Halpin is directly involved with policy issues that are of concern to the military and the transportation industry, locally and globally."

NDTA is a non-profit educational association comprising more than 9,000 government, military and transportation industry professionals who aim to foster a stronger, and more efficient and secure global transportation and distribution system.
