Alcatel installs security cameras on Denmark passenger train

Alcatel Transport Automation Solutions recently installed and will begin testing a real-time video surveillance camera onboard the driverless metro system in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Designed to improve passenger security, the system is based on new generation closed-circuit television systems, which continuously send images from the train to a central control center.

The camera relies on a new wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) system between the train and wayside, and an existing optical multi-service transport network from the wayside to the control center. Onboard equipment includes CCTV cameras, a digital video recorder, mobile radios and antennas.

Based on Alcatel’s next-generation SDH Optical Multi-Service Node systems, the network supports the distribution of voice, data and video traffic between all subsystems of the network, according to a prepared statement.

Alcatel was responsible for designing, integrating, installing, integrating, engineering and testing the system.
