BNSF Railway Co. has appointed Stan Alexander assistant vice president of technology services to succeed Beth Bonjour, who plans to retire June 1.

Alexander most recently served Federal Express in a technology officer capacity. Prior to that position, he was global chief technology officer and vice president of technology strategy and architecture with EDS/Hewlett-Packard, and held various positions at CSX Corp. and Bellcore.

Alexander previously was a Feld Group consultant to BNSF from 1992 to 1997, leading the architecture and systems integration of the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe railroads.

Bonjour has served BNSF and its predecessors for 35 years, beginning as an applications programmer for the Santa Fe in 1974. She previously was AVP of information support systems and helped merge the BN’s and Santa Fe’s computer systems.
