Canadian National Railway Co. March 19 announced that Association of Railway Unions (ARU) members at 290-mile Algoma Central Railway Inc. (ACR) ratified a new four-year agreement.
The pact, which covers 124 active ACR employees, increases wages and benefits, and is retroactive to Feb. 1, 2001.
CN and ARU had reached a tentative four-year agreement Feb. 25, subject to the ratification vote.
ARU bargains on behalf of six railway unions at ACR, which CN acquired in October as part of its Wisconsin Central Transportation Corp. acquisition.
