Transplace.com LLC and Associated Warehouses Inc. (AWI) March 22 formed an alliance to provide Web-enabled integrated warehousing, fulfillment, transportation and logistics services.
The companies also plan to offer integrated distribution services and real-time shipment tracking.
Transplace.com, an Internet-based global transportation logistics company, has established a shipper base, and a network of 5,000 carriers designed to provide integrated transportation logistics. The company’s Dense Network Efficiency(SM) platform offers shippers and carriers standardized processes and reduced empty miles, as well as a range of fleet services.
AWI is a consortium of more than 50 third-party distribution and fulfillment companies, comprising more than 250 North American facilities containing more than 90 million square feet of ambient, chilled and frozen warehouse space.
"As a result of the scale of resources represented by Transplace and AWI, our clients will have access to an integrated supply-chain solution in virtually any market throughout North America," said AWI Vice President Mark Richards in a prepared statement.
