Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
Amsted Rail recently acquired Transolutions Inc., a U.S.-managed business development and engineering company based in Moscow that focuses on the Russian/Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) rail industry. The deal enables Amsted Rail to enter one of the world’s largest railway supply markets, according to the company.
“The combination of Amsted Rail technologies with Transolutions’ vast knowledge and relationships in the developing Russian railway industry makes this an exciting opportunity,” said John Wories, President of Amsted Rail International and Amsted Rail subsidiary ASF-Keystone Inc., in a prepared statement.
Transolutions Managing Director Marcus Montenecourt will continue in that role. He also will serve as Amsted Rail’s managing director for Russia/CIS.
Amsted Rail, which also owns Griffin Wheel Co. Inc. and Brenco Inc., supplies rail-car trucks, draft sills, couplers, draft gears, cushioning units, bearings and cast-steel wheels.
