Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
Yesterday, Amtrak, Metrolink and the California Department of Transportation launched a “Rail 2 Rail” Web site to provide riders easier access to Amtrak Pacific Surfliner and Metrolink train information.
Accessible at www.railtorail.org, the site provides information on weekend getaways, special events, festivals and destination promotions.
Launched in 2002, the Rail 2 Rail program enables Metrolink monthly pass holders on the Orange and Ventura County corridors to travel on Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains within the trip limits of their pass at no charge. Amtrak passengers can use their tickets on any Metrolink service within certain limitations.
