Amtrak, TCU agree on tentative contracts covering three crafts
advertisement
Amtrak and the Transportation Communications Union (TCU) recently reached tentative agreements covering clerks, onboard service workers and product line supervisors.
Extending from Jan. 1, 2005, through Dec. 1, 2009, the pacts call for wage increases and retroactive pay hikes to July 1, 2005. The agreements also include employee health insurance contributions but no work rule changes — similar to other Amtrak labor contracts covering other crafts.
"I am very pleased that we are finally able to bring this difficult bargaining round on Amtrak to a successful close," said TCU International President Bob Scardelletti in a prepared statement.
TCU will send ratification packets to members during the next few days; ballots are due June 27.
