Amtrak hires Heidrick & Struggles to help find next top executive

The Amtrak board recently hired executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles Inc. to help conduct a nationwide search for a new president and chief executive officer.
In the interim, former Amtrak Chief Engineering Officer David Hughes will continue to serve as acting president and CEO, a position he’s held since Amtrak’s board fired David Gunn in November.
