Amtrak increases off-peak weekend hours on Northeast Corridor trains

Beginning today, Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor passengers will have more off-peak travel options available to them at week’s end — at off-peak prices.

Currently, Amtrak’s Regional, Empire and Keystone train passengers pay peak fares for trains departing between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Fridays and Sundays. Now, peak fares will apply on trains departing between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday and Sunday.

"It makes taking Amtrak for a weekend getaway in the Northeast even more affordable," said Matt Hardison, Amtrak’s chief of sales, in a prepared statement.
