Forty-two percent of Amtrak tickets now are purchased online, so the national intercity passenger railroad is trying to make it easier for passengers to access Web services. The railroad recently launched Amtrak.mobi, a new Web site designed for mobile device users.
The site provides users access to Amtrak’s train reservation and information systems to purchase tickets, access a booking profile and view up-to-date train information using Web-enabled mobile devices, such as cell phones and PDAs.
