On Monday, Amtrak will restore service on the remaining Acela Express trains between Washington, D.C., New York City and Boston — five months after the national passenger railroad shut down the high-speed service because of cracks found in many of the trains’ disc brake rotors.
Amtrak will operate eight weekday round trips between the three cities, increasing current weekday service between Washington, D.C. and Boston by four trips. The railroad will continue to operate 14 weekday round trips between New York City and Washington, D.C.
