Amtrak to hire more minority-, women-owned law firms

Amtrak recently joined the National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms’ Corporate and Public Entities Partnering Program.

The national passenger railroad plans to set aside about 5 percent of its outside counsel budget to hire minority- and women-owned law firms.

Founded in 2001, the association comprises of minority- and women-owned law firms that "exhibit excellence in the legal profession," according to a prepared statement. The organization promotes the hiring of minority- and women-owned law firms by major corporations and public entities.
