Tomorrow, Amtrak will host a Community Security & Emergency Preparedness Expo at Chicago’s Union Station in partnership with area law enforcement and emergency response agencies. The event aims to raise community awareness of security efforts and strengthen partnerships between the national passenger railroad and local emergency response agencies.
Participating agencies include Amtrak’s Police & Security Department; Chicago Fire Department; Cook County Sheriff’s Department and Bomb Squad; Federal Bureau of Investigation; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; Secret Service; Postal Inspector; Department of Homeland Security; Transportation Security Administration; Federal Emergency Management Agency; Department of Health and Human Services; Illinois Department of Transportation; Cardiac Sciences; and the American Red Cross.
The agencies will exhibit displays such as mobile command centers. Amtrak has scheduled similar expos throughout the year at major stations.
