Yesterday, the Association of American Railroads (AAR) announced Anacostia Rail Holdings Inc. has become a full member. The company, which owns and operates five short lines, previously was an associate member.

As full members, Anacostia officials will have access to all AAR services and be eligible to serve on the association’s board and committees.

“We look forward to working with the larger railroads of the U.S., Canada and Mexico to address industry issues and opportunities,” said Anacostia President and Chief Executive Officer Peter Gilbertson in a prepared statement.

Anacostia & Pacific Co Inc. owns the Chicago SouthShore & South Bend Railroad, Louisville & Indiana Railroad, New York & Atlantic Railway Co., Northern Lines Railway L.L.C. and Pacific Harbor Line Inc.
