Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
The Transportation Marketing & Communications Association (TMCA) recently named Martha Anderson chairman of a newly formed recognition committee, which will oversee the annual Compass Awards and other programs.
Creative director for James Street Associates — a Chicago-based ad agency that’s developed marketing programs for Amtrak, GE Rail Services, Operation Lifesaver, Railinc, Rescar and other rail industry firms — Anderson joined TMCA in 1997.
“Martha has been actively involved over the past several years as a Compass judging team leader and understands the … role TMCA plays in demonstrating the value of marketing in the transportation industry,” said TMCA Chief Executive Officer Brian Everett in a prepared statement.
Presented for more than 50 years, the Compass Awards (formerly the “Trannys”) recognize marketing and communications achievements in the transportation and logistics industries, including accomplishments by railroads, transit agencies, trucking firms, ocean carriers and third-party logistics providers. TMCA represents the interests of marketing, sales and communications professionals serving the North American transportation industry.
