Arizona & California leases part of ROW for underground pipeline
advertisement
The Arizona & California Railroad Co. (ARZC) has agreed to lease part of its right of way to Cadiz Inc. for 99 years so the company can build an underground pipeline as part of the Cadiz Valley Dry-Year Supply Project, a water storage and supply program in southern California.
The pipeline will connect the project area to the Colorado River Aqueduct via the right of way instead of crossing undisturbed land managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.
Owned by RailAmerica Inc., the 297-mile ARZC interchanges with BNSF Railway Co. in Phoenix and Cadiz, Calif.
