Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) recently awarded a $7 million contract to Cubic Transportation Systems Inc. to provide technology linking the agency with TransLink®, the regional mass transit smart-card ticket program.
Cubic will provide hardware and software designed to enable BART’s fare-collection system to accept and process TransLink cards, and upload and download fare table changes.
The software includes Cubic’s Tri-Reader®, designed to read any type of contactless smart card meeting ISO standards and enable BART to introduce other features.
