BART launches construction on Dublin Transit Center parking garage

Last week, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) broke ground on a new parking garage at the site of the future Dublin Transit Center.

Located near BART’s Dublin/Pleasanton Station, the $42 million, 1,513-space garage is scheduled to be complete in spring 2008. The garage is part of a long-term plan to create a transit-oriented community at the Dublin Transit Center that ultimately will include 1,800 homes, a village green, retail shops, a hotel and 1.7 million square feet of office space.

Once the garage is complete, most existing surface parking lots will be redeveloped into high-density housing.
