BART seeks comments on earthquake safety plan
advertisement
On Wednesday, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) will host an open forum to review and gather public comments on the environmental assessment for a $1.3 billion earthquake safety program.
The hearing is part of a 30-day public review period for the environmental study. Comments issued during the public review will be addressed in the final environmental assessment.
The earthquake safety program is designed to upgrade BART’s system from the Berkeley Hills tunnel in Oakland to Montgomery Street Station in San Francisco, including the Transbay Tube, to ensure it can withstand a major earthquake.
