BART to conduct environmental report for proposed Warm Springs extension

advertisement

On April 28, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) will hold a public scoping meeting and open house to gather feedback on an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for a 5.4-mile extension from Fremont Station to the Warm Springs district, with an optional station in Irvington, Calif.

BART originally conducted an EIS for the project in 1992, but the line was not constructed due to insufficient funding. In 2003, the agency prepared a supplemental Environmental Impact Report.

The EIS will analyze transportation and traffic impacts, use of parkland, biological resources and sensitive species, land use, potential impacts to historic and cultural resources, and noise and vibration.
