Ethanex Energy Inc. recently announced plans to build an ethanol plant in Waltonville, Ill. The 132 million-gallon-capacity plant will be served by BNSF Railway Co. and Union Pacific Railroad.
The company expects to begin construction in the second quarter and complete the facility in third-quarter 2008. In addition to ethanol, the plant will produce about 190,000 tons of distillers grains and 25,000 tons of corn oil annually.
Ethanex also plans to build ethanol plants in southeastern Missouri and northeastern Kansas.
