BNSF Railway Co. has been recognized for the second consecutive year on the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index (CEI), scoring 100/100 on the latest LGBTQ+ equality index.

The index is a benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality to encourage a more inclusive workplace culture. BNSF joins 545 other U.S. businesses that also earned top marks in 2023. BNSF improved its score from 90 to 100 this year.

"We encourage and facilitate a culture of inclusion for all," said Tom Williams, BNSF's group vice president of consumer products and executive sponsor of PRIDE+. "We know that an inclusive work environment makes us stronger as individuals, as well as an organization."

Meanwhile, Wabtec Corp. announced it has received a score of 100 on the CEI. The recognition comes as Wabtec makes significant year-over-year progress on all diversity, equity and inclusion targets, Wabtec officials said in a news release.

"We are committed to advancing a diverse and inclusive workforce built on the foundation that all employees treat each other with respect and dignity," said Alina Butler, Wabtec's global diversity and inclusion leader. "Lasting change is driven from within, and we will continue to make meaningful progress building on the momentum we have to help ensure that every voice is heard, and every employee feels valued and respected."
