BNSF assigns four executives to new posts

BNSF Railway Co. recently named George Duggan vice president of coal marketing to succeed Sami Shalah, who will retire in August; Katie Farmer, VP of domestic intermodal to succeed Duggan; Tom Williams, VP of industrial products sales to succeed Farmer; and Brant Ring, assistant VP of intermodal hub operations to succeed Michael Burke, who also will retire in August.

Reporting to Group VP-Coal Steve Bobb, Duggan joined BNSF predecessor Burlington Northern Railroad in 1990 as a grain specialist. He later held various posts with increasing responsibility in customer support, marketing and sales.

Farmer, who will report to Group VP-Consumer Products Steve Branscum, joined Burlington Northern in 1992 as a corporate management trainee. She later held various positions in customer support, marketing, sales and equipment.

Reporting to Group VP-Industrial Products Dave Garin, Williams joined BNSF predecessor Santa Fe Railway in 1993 as a pricing analyst. He later held several marketing and sales positions, and most recently was AVP of service design.

Ring, who will report to VP-Business Unit Operations Frtiz Draper, joined Burlington Northern in 1995 as a corporate management trainee and most recently was general director of grain operations.
