Burlington Northern Santa Fe recently received GLOVIS America's Outstanding Rail Service award for 2003.

Presented at GLOVIS America Annual Carriers Conference in mid-February, the award recognizes continuous excellence and dedication to providing superior service in vehicle rail handling and delivery. GLOVIS America is the logistics management company for Hyundai Motors America and Kia Motors Inc., according to a prepared statement.

A multi-year winner of the award, BNSF moves vehicles for GLOVIS America through the Ports of Portland and Tacoma to many Midwest markets, and is working with GLOVIS to improve its automobile distribution system.

"We're working together to utilize Richmond, Calif., as a port of entry, to more effectively consolidate vehicles for their dealerships in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana," said BNSF Assistant Vice President-Automotive Marc Allen.
