BNSF earns Wal-Mart's annual carrier award for fifth-straight year

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. recently named Burlington Northern Santa Fe a recipient of the retailer's annual "Carrier of the Year" award, which recognizes a carrier's revenue and growth, ease-of-doing-business efforts,

The only railroad to ever be named a recipient, BNSF now has been honored five consecutive years by Wal-Mart, which bestowed the award to nine carriers.
"It is an honor to be recognized again by Wal-Mart as a vital link in their supply chain," said Steve Branscum, BNSF group vice president, consumer products, in a prepared statement. "We look forward to strengthening
our relationship further … by continuing to provide premium intermodal and carload transportation products."
