BNSF Railway Co. recently bestowed its annual Product Stewardship Awards to 50 chemical shippers for safely transporting hazardous materials via rail last year and meeting the American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care® requirements.
The awards recognize shippers that moved a minimum of 500 haz-mat tank cars during the past year and experienced no non-accidental chemical releases.
The winners included BP Amoco Chemical Co., Eka Chemicals Inc. and Olin Chlor Alkali, which have obtained the honor every year since BNSF established the awards in 1997.
