BNSF presents Product Stewardship Awards to 46 chemical shippers

On April 10, Burlington Northern Santa Fe honored 46 chemical shippers with Product Stewardship Awards, which recognize safe hazardous-material handling efforts and support American Chemistry Council's Responsible Care® Initiative.
BNSF has presented the awards the past six years. Akzo Nobel Chemicals Inc; BP Chemicals; Eka Chemicals Inc.; Husky Energy; Kerr-McGee Chemical L.L.C.; Nexen Chemicals; Olin Corp., Chlor Alkali Division; and PPG Industries Inc. have achieved the annual honor each year.
To win the award, shippers had to transport a minimum of 500 hazardous-materials tank cars during 2002 without one non-accidental release.
